Soc. Sec. # on Official Records -Reply

An effective means of uniquely identifying a large number of people
within a database is to use their last name and the last four digits of their
social security number.

With the SQL capabilities of many of today's packages, you should be
able to quickly and simply query by the two together.

This does not compromise their social security number and gives you a
standard means of identifying people.

So, try asking for only the last four digits of the SSN, not the whole
number.
