EPA's Scrap Metal Project HomePage
Dear Radsafers:
You may be interested in reviewing EPA's Scrap Metal Project HomePage at:
http://www.epa.gov/radiation/scrap/
EPA has prepared two major documents, a preliminary Technical Support Document (TSD) and a preliminary
Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), as part of an on-going program to determine the need for radiation protection standards
for scrap metal. The TSD summarizes the technical information that EPA will use to decide whether or not to propose
standards for the release of scrap metal. The CBA examines the economic ramifications of the various regulatory
options under consideration. Both of these documents are available for review through the Documents Page. In
addition, this HomePage also presents information on current U.S. and international radiological protection criteria and
standards for salvaging scrap metal.
Sincerely,
