Food Irradiation

Good morning Radsafers!

We had a thread a few weeks/months ago concerning food irradiation.  The
following link is to a letter in the Washington Post from a concerned
citizen in Vermont.

The interesting comments are:

"But exposing food to radiation would only cause more
                         problems than it could ever solve."

"In addition, irradiation poses severe environmental risks. Past
                         accidents at irradiation facilities --
including radioactive leaks
                         and worker exposure to radiation sources --
have already
                         endangered both workers and surrounding
communities.
