General Information:

Job Title: Health Physicist
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Duration: Full-Time, 2-3 years
Clearance: DOE "Q" is required

Required Skills:
*	Ability and willingness to work directly with line customers to 
achieve acceptable solutions to difficult characterization situations. 
 This interaction frequently involves customers who have become 
frustrated with the system and require delicate handling, so 
experience with difficult customers is helpful.
*	Familiarity with Radiochemistry and Radiological Analysis methods. 
 Understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the various 
radioanalytical techniques is vital.
*	Experience with Portable Radiological Instrumentation.  Knowledge of 
the general categories of instrumentation and the 
capabilities/limitations for each type.
*	Strong organizational skills necessary as well as an ability to 
continue a difficult task until completion without becoming 
frustrated.
*	Experience in or willingness to be trained and maintain capability 
of sampling skills for both radioactive and mixed waste.
*	OSHA 40 trained and respirator qualified or willingness to complete 
this training.

Desired Skills:
*	Background in Health Physics and especially experience in 
radioanalytical analysis techniques very valuable.
*	Some exposure to RCRA Regulations as it relates to Hazardous/Mixed 
waste identification is useful.
*	Familiarity with Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) and its 
operations.
*	Ability to work with line customers in difficult situations and take 
on their problems to achieve solutions in a timely and cost effective 
manner.

Education:
*	Prefer a minimum of Bachelors in some Science Discipline or 
equivalent experience.
*	Some formal training in Health Physics or Radiological Sciences
