Ted,

There have been innumerable responsible responses to the "Pu -- the most
hazardous substance" crap, but they generate little interest.  To talk of 60 Minutes
or some show of that nature devoting time to a sober assessment is unrealistic.  A
declaration that the sky is not falling is as dull as a mashed potato sandwich.

Of course, the Health Physics Society's Public Education Committee is developing
a "Fact Sheet" on plutonium that will refute the scare stories.  If you or anyone can
devise a way to get the National TV air time, we would be happy to put on a show,
but I am not going to hold my breath until it happens.
