RE: Signs, Signs, Everywhere the Signs
In response to the number of posted signs in the plant , the HP
department at Limerick Generating Station set out to improve the posting
program. One of the key improvements made to the program was to include
a photo of the required protective clothing to worn to enter an area on
the posting. For example, in order to enter the area, you must look the
photo. In addition, the postings are color coded based upon the
radiation levels.
The program has received very positive feedback.
This only addressed one portion of the sign problem however. At a Nuc
Plant, as I am sure at most other facilities, HP or Rad Pro is not the
only group to post signs at the entrances to the area. This is an area
we have been focusing on to in an attempt to consolidate all the signs.
Program was implemented earlier in the year. To date the program has
been successful.
