Thyroid Intercomparison Programme

Greetings

The Canadian National Calibration Reference Centre for In Vivo Monitoring is 
now opening its Thyroid Intercomparison programme to facilities outside of 
Canada.  

The programme is operated on an annual basis and allows facilities to either 
calibrate or check their calibrations for I-125 and/or I-131.  The 
intercomparison kit contains a neck phantom, an overly plate to simulate 
different overlaying tissue thickness, four thyroid inserts (high and low 
activity for both radionuclides), a manual (English or French) and a training 
video (English or French).   For a first-time calibration the number of inserts 
are doubled so that the thyroid monitor can be calibrated and checked at the 
same time.  The thyroid inserts are solid and radioactivity cannot leak making 
this phantom particularly suitable for a mail-out programme.

Cost:  $900 Cdn per facility.  Facilities with more than one thyroid counter 
will receive a discount. Further details on the
