Dr. Pillay, you probably already have received the info you requested but here is a
detailed listing of NRC info.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on January 29, 1997.  The contact
person listed was Stewart Schneider in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research,
(301) 415-6225.  Regulatory Guide 8.39 was issued April 1997.  There is an Errata
Sheet dated May 1997.  There is also a NUREG-1492, "Regulatory Analysis on
Criteria for the Release of Patients Administered Radioactive Material", published
February 1997.  It was authored by Scheider and McGuire.  McGuire's phone
