ALLIED TECHNOLOGY GROUP TO HOLD FIRST STOCK OFFERING

FREMONT--Hoping to raise $20 million, Allied Technology Group
Inc., a radioactive and hazardous waste treatment center, plans
to offer 1.7 million shares in a public offering in the next
few months.

ATG employs 168 workers and reported a net income of $1 million
on revenues of $19.1 million in 1997, according to a filing with
the Securities and Exchange Commission earlier this week.

Public and private institutions including the Department of
Defense, nuclear power plants, hospitals and research
organizations send contaminated waste such as plastic and rags
to ATG. The Fremont-based company then crushes and bundles
the material for a landfill. Over the last three years, the
company has forged customer relationships with Lockheed Martin
Corp. and Morrison Knudsen.

ATG declined to comment because it is in a quiet period. But in
a previous interview, Doreen Chiu, president of ATG, said she
has been waiting to go public for 14 years.

The radioactive and hazardous waste management industry is
competitive. ATG's main competitor is Duratek for the thermal
treatment of domestic low-level radioactive waste.

But according to the SEC filing, ATG believes the market is
diverse and growing, fueled by extensive regulations aimed
to protect the environment. In 1996, the U.S. market for
environmental services including solid waste management and
water treatment services was about $140 billion and $300
billion worldwide. The market in the states is expected to
grow at a rate of 4 percent annually, according to the SEC
filing.

Proceeds from the initial public offering will be used for
capital expenditures, repayment of some short term debt and
working capital which may include acquisitions and joint
ventures.

Founded in 1976, ATG started as a provider of health physics
support. The company has a waste facility in Richland, Wash.,
and engineering offices in Hawaii and Tennessee.
