Case-Control Radon Studies in the U.S. -Reply

Bill,

I agree with your statements re: the ecological studies
referenced in the report. They did not address radon and
lung cancer. But the Committee clearly referenced those
studies in order to give credence to their conclusions about
the associations between radon and lung-cancer. They
attempt to strengthen their arguments through association.
Why else would they reference them?

What is mysteriously absent is a balanced assessment of
both case-control and eco. studies that are in stark
disagreement with the BEIR IV/VI models -- and there's a lot
of them. There's no attempt to evaluate, discuss the
existence of, or cast stones at these countervailing studies.

That's where BEIR VI loses credibility. And since no
attempt appears to have been made to reconcile these
obvious contradictions that have been the topic of debate
for several years, I think the taxpayers should get a refund.

But that's just my opinion.
