As RSO at a large Medical Center in St. Louis, I annually surveyed the
facility's two electron microscopes.  They would place a blank holder in the
beam, run under normal operating conditions.  I found no levels greater than
background in eight years.  The measurements made the operators feel better,
especially measuring under the table top where their legs and laps were.  They
received annual Radiation Safety training as all radiation workers and wore
quarterly TLD badges which never recorded anything above "M" minimal.
