HPS-ANS'98 WILLIAMSBURG MEETING, MARCH 27-29, 1998 There will be a meeting in Williamsburg Virginia on the weekend of March 27-29, 1998, jointly sponsored by the Virginia Chapter of the Health Physics Society and the Virginia Section of the American Nuclear Society. The meeting site is the Fort Magruder Inn, less than a mile east of Colonial Williamsburg on US Route 60. This excellent location has been chosen because of its proximity to Colonial Williamsburg and the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (formerly CEBAF) in Newport News, the site of the Saturday afternoon tour. Following a registration reception of Friday night, there will be a technical session on Saturday morning the topic of which is "Beneficial Uses of Radiation in the 21st Century". Concurrently there will be a workshop for middle and high school teachers Saturday morning. After the Jefferson Lab tour, there will be a reception and dinner Saturday evening. On Sunday morning, there will be a special session on achieving public acceptance for nuclear activities, led by Jim Toscas, Vice President and General Manager of the Eagle Alliance. There will also be a vendors show at which a number of companies that offer nuclear and radiation related products and services will display their wares. This will be the third year that the Virginia chapters of these two national societies have met together and the meeting format has been very well-received. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to join with your technical colleagues in the most pleasant setting of Colonial Williamsburg in the Spring.
