Obituary for JACK A. SCANLAN JR.



Radsafers - FYI (excerpted from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle):

Dr. Jack A. Scanlan Jr., 80, formerly of Bozeman, died peacefully Dec. 29,
1997, in Gresham, Ore., following a long
bout with congestive heart failure. Dr. Scanlan was born in Chicago Sept.
25, 1917. He was raised in Evanston, Ill., and
graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1940. 

In 1940 after graduation he married fellow U.T. graduate Albertine Herring
(of New Braunfels, Texas) in Haledon, N.J.
They settled in Paterson, N.J., where Jack served as research engineer at
Wright Aeronautical Corporation for seven
years. 

In 1947 Jack returned with his wife and three children to Austin to teach
mechanical engineering at the University of
Texas.
