Risk Communication and Bioethics



Radsafers interested in risk communication issues may want
to look at an article in today's NY Times:

The article can be reached by going to Contents and then
Science.  It is titled "In Fixing Faulty Medical Devices, the
Cure Can be Worse that the Disease"..   Although it doesn't
directly address radiation, I think the discussion of the ethics
of communicating very low risks (like one in a billion) has a
lot of applicability to low level rad issues.  It shows that in
this area you're damned if you do, and damned it fou don't
(communicate).
