Job Announcement



The University of California, Santa Barbara, is seeking an experienced
Health Physicist (EH&S Specialist I) working within the Department of
Environmental Health and Safety. Under general supervision of the 
Radiation Safety Officer, the incumbent will perform routine duties and
supplemental assignments as required to maintain compliance with 
applicable regulations and conditions of the university radioactive 
material license. 

The position primarly involves operation/ managment of the campus 
radioactive waste program, conducting surveys/inspections of 
radioisotope labs and radiation-producing machines. Other routine 
duties include sample analysis and leak-testing, overseeing the 
radiation instrumentation calibration program. 

Minimum requirements: two (2) years related full-time  experience 
preferably in a  university/research environment; Bachelors degree in 
health physics or a related field; good interpersonal and
written communication skills; working knowledge of PC computer
systems and software.
