Summer PEP Sessions

RADSAFERS

The Continuing Education Committee would like to announce a few
changes in the presenters of Professional Enrichment Program courses at
the annual meeting in Minneapolis:

Noelle Metting of the Molecular BioSciences Dept at Pacific
Northwest National Laboratory is replacing John Johnson for PEP 1-H
"Interactions Between Ionizing Radiation Track Structure and DNA." Dr.
Metting's area of research is radiation biology, and she is currently
studying intracellular relocalization of DNA repair proteins in
irradiated human cells.

Paul Stansbury is replacing Joseph McDonald for PEP # 1-J
"Dosimeter and Instrument Calibrations Using ISO Reference Radiations"

Ron Kathren is replacing Ellen Hochheiser for PEP # W-1
"Communicating Health Physics."

Sharp-eyed members noticed that Theodore Villafana's talk
descriptions were swapped. The titles were listed in the proper location,
the descriptions are reversed. Our Apologies to Dr. Villafana.

The Affiliates will also be presenting a PEP class on Monday
night. Because this is a late addition to the program the committee will
only offer this topic if there is an enrollment of at least 10 people. So
let the Secretariat know prior to July 8th or sign up after you register
at the meeting. One talk will be presented by Dixie Wells titled, "New
Technologies in Project Planning and Execution - Geographic Information
System."

Other PEP Topics of interest to RADSAFERS presented at the meeting will
be: Laser Safety, ABHP Certification preparation (Part I and II), Computer
Applications, Transportation, Litigation, Non-ionizing Radiation, Medical
applications, MARSSIM, Risk Assessment and communication, and others

Corrections listed above as well as a complete listing of PEP presenters
and abstracts can be reviewed (PDF format) on the HPS web site:

the Health Physics Society (both Mid-year and Annual) may contact me
