When we had a similar problem we stayed away from the low energy scint. detectors because of their "in line" configuration. Your own fingers & hand are too close to the beam for comfort. Hunting with a pancake and then measuring with an IC was our approach. As stated previously, the second big problem was the beam size vs chamber size comparison. Jack
