Survey on Removable Storage Devices
Dear RADSAFERs:
On a recent trip to a Computer City outside DC I was overwhelmed by the
selection of high capacity removable storage devices. It seems like there at
least a dozen high capacity storage devices and media (zip, jaz, SuperDisk,
SyQuest, etc.) out there. I'd like to gather some information on your
preferences and trends and post the results in a week or 2.
1) Do you use a removable high capacity storage device(Y/N)? (If N, thanks
anyway, that's good information too.)
2) What type do you use? (zip, jaz, Syquest, etc.)
3) What is the capacity of the removable media?
4) Did the device come "bundled" with a new system (Y/N)?
5) What led you to select the one you have:
a) capacity
b) ability to share media with others
c) price
d) performance
e) other (specify)
6) Do you use this as a "removable" hard drive or for the archival storage
of data.
7) Are you satisfied with your choice (Y/N)? If N, please comment on what
you would change.
8) Are you considering the purchase of a high capacity removable storage
device in the near future(Y/N)? If Y, what kind?
This is a personal survey for the sole benefit of the HP community - the
information if for YOU (and to help me make some short-term decisions about my
own systems). It is not involved with any commercial venture. Thanks.
