 Although we don't pay by the hour, if we did our hourly rate
 here in Los Angeles County is about $31.00/hr PLUS benefits.

I think this where the problem ocurrs. The original posting was at 31k/yr  and
is now being quoted at $$$31.00/hr   ?????????

Could be both, but requires about 1000 hours/year..... Which nearly computes...
