Re: Media Exaggerations of Nuclear Power Plant Events
FYI on the following:

("Marviken") never went critical - it was supposed to
run with heavy water but the project was stopped for some reason I can't
remember - then the half-built plant was used for other fuels instead
(perhaps the only nuclear plant that was fired with coal or oil(?!).).

I am aware of at least two other plants that changed energy sources. The Cincinati Gas and Electric (Zimmer) plant in Moscow, Ohio didn't get licensed and was converted to (a gas turbine?). The other was the Consumers Power Midland Units I and II in Midland, Michigan. The basemat it was built on was allowing the Aux and Turbine buildings to settle diferentially and it was tilting. I believe the plant is selling steam to Dow Chemical for process heating.
