Vote on Sierra Blanca

I apologize to anyone on the Radsafe Network who thinks I am attempting to skew the poll being taken by the Austin American-Statesman. That certainly isn't my intent. What I am seeking is balance.

I simply was trying to alert the Health Physics community to the existence of the poll, and asking those who wanted to vote on the issue to do so. A person who took the initiative to vote, I assume, would be reasonably informed and would have an opinion on the issue. On the other hand, those who didn't care would not bother to vote.

The antinuclear community has extensive networks, comparable to the Radsafe network, to alert their members to respond to such polls. I was simply using the Radsafe network to accomplish the same goal. By the way, not everyone on this network voted affirmatively. I received one e-mail this morning from a member who thanked me for alerting him so that he could cast his "no" vote.

By the way, the current tally on the question: "Should nuclear waste be stored near Sierra Blanca?" is 73% yes, 22% no and 4% undecided.
