OPEN SCIENCE SPECIALIST POSITION



	Science Specialist

Bechtel Nevada, a leading contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy,
is seeking a Science Specialist for their Washington, D.C. location.  This
is an exciting opportunity to support an international response team for
radiological incidents. Candidates must meet the requirements for a
security clearance, which include a U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities include isotopic identification, measurement of spatial
distribution of radioactive materials, and reporting and conducting
briefings covering all aspects of surveys and nuclear emergency
response activities.  The selected candidate will develop new techniques
for analyzing radiological data and provide technical guidance to those
planning emergency responses.

Selected candidate must possess a PhD in Health Physics, Nuclear
Engineering, Nuclear Physics, or Nuclear Chemistry, or equivalent
combination of experience and training.  Experience in nuclear
environment or radiation sciences.  Experience with gamma-ray
spectroscopy of special nuclear materials.  Knowledge to conduct
complex tests and evaluate projects.  This position requires the ability to
travel on short notice, work nonstandard hours, walk long distances
carrying heavy loads and perform duties in all climates and living
conditions.
