Brown University has an immediate opening for a Radiation and Biological
Safety Assistant in the Office of Risk Management. This position is
responsible for assisting the Radiation and Biological Safety officer in
matters relating to safety in research laboratories,including radiation,
biohazards and lasers.   Duties include: enforcement of radiation safety
regulations, calibrations of instruments, laboratory inspections and safety
training. Will handle radioactive and biological waste and assist with the
chemical waste program.  

Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science Degree and a working knowledge of
computers is required. Experience in radiation safety preferred. Candidate
must be able to access all parts of parts of the University, lift 50 lbs.,
wear a respirator and respond to emergency situations.The candidate should
possess the appropriate communication and people skills for working with
others in a research environment.
