Position vacancy
The Radiation Safety Office of Drexel University has an immediate opening
for a Radiation Safety Specialist/Assistant Radiation Safety Officer. This
position is under the general supervision of the Radiation Safety Officer.
Duties include: enforcement of radiation safety regulations, package
surveys, quarterly inspections, dosimeter distribution, processing of
radioactive waste, maintenance of all records and correspondence, and other
duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree, or equivalent experience and
training, in a scientific or technical field is required. Experience,
education, and training in radiation safety is required, but on-the-job
training and willingness to participate in short courses will be
acceptable. A strong desire and interest in maintaining and improving the
understanding and practice of radiation safety as well as an awareness of
safe practices in other related areas. The candidate should possess the
appropriate communication and people skills for working with others in a
research environment.
