Re: Required Training
Many times the Radiation Safety Officer is also the Laser Safety Officer. For
laser safety, the training requirements for different class lasers are
indicated in the ANSI Z-136.1. Table D1 in the appendix lists suggested
topics for training. These are dependent on the class of laser being used.
Currently the ANSI Z 136.1 is being revised. In a current draft, stronger
wording is being used to describe the necessity of re-training or refresher
training. Watch for news of a revised standard soon.
