Ventilation Design Considerations for Non-Reactor Nuclear-Reply

Gordon,

Two references would be of particular interest for you:

DOE 6430.1A, General Design Criteria, specifically sections 1300 (as
applies) and 1550-99 (inclusive).

ERDA 76-21, Nuclear Air Cleaning Handbook: Design,
Construction, and Testing of High-Efficiency Air Cleaning Systems
for Nuclear Applications

Also, the Health Physics Manuals of Good Practices for:

     Plutonium Facilities, PNL-6534
     Uranium Facilities, EGG-2530
     Tritium Facilities, MNL-3719

     and for Pu facilities specifically:

the Prompt Detection of Airborne [Pu] in the Workplace,
     PNL-6612

Most recently the DOE has issued DOE-STD-1128-98, Guide of
Good Practices for Occupational Radiation Protection in Plutonium
Facilities, that references several of the documents listed above.

Good Luck!
