Re: Gross Beta Reporting
In the USEPA regulations on drinking water quality (40 CFR 141), the limit
given for beta/gamma emitters is a concentration that would cause 4 mrem/year.
It also has a Table A, that gives concentrations for H-3 (10,000 pCi/L) and
Sr-90 (8 pCi/L) that are equivalent to the 4 mrem/year standard. There is
also a table later on in this section that lists approved analytical
procedures for radionuclide concentrations.
