Dear Tom:
The EPA's Office of Radiation and Indoor Air compiles HEAST Table 4 that
provides carcinogenic slope factors for external exposure to rads in soil
is unreliable since it assumes risk factors based on speculative linear
risk models. Similar risk factors for exposure in water would be equally
unreliable. Please see the Health Physics Society position paper on
