POSITION:   Health Physics Technician II
LOCATION:   South Plainfield, New Jersey
DEPARTMENT: Health Physics
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Performs area and environmental surveillance to assure regulatory compliance
and safe working conditions.  Performs tasks related to the management and
control of radioactive material, waste and effluent.  Coordinates the
maintenance and calibration of radiation detection and other safety
equipment.  Participates in ALARA subcommittee meetings and projects.
Supports maintenance of facility air handling and monitoring equipment.
Performs tasks related to the maintenance of the personnel dosimetry
program. Responds to incidents, accidents and unusual circumstances.
Assists in identification of corrective actions.  Performs facility and
process audits.  Performs other tasks related to radiation or general
safety, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1-3 Years experience
Associates Degree in Science (Preferably in Radiological Sciences)
Proficiency in use of radiation detection and analytical equipment
Knowledge in PC based software systems such as Word, Excel and Access
Good written and verbal communication skills
