Ruth,

This effort may be a branching out of UG's current activities. If I am
not mistaken, UG runs or has a strong affiliation with the Savannah
River Ecology Lab (SREL) which is staffed by a great group of folks
on the SRS site.  They have done a lot of work which would be
germane to the Chernobyl environment, hence this move makes
some sense.

Perhaps some SRS folks could help me out with the current facts?
