Photon spectra in the workplace
Dear Colleagues
I am trying to obtain data on the photon spectra (fluence vs
energy) in the workplace (nuclear power plant, reprocessing plant,
hospitals etc). Can anyone help?
Why am I interested in this? Most of the photon dose delivered to
the Japanese bomb survivors was between 2-5 MeV. In most
occupational exposures the energy will be much less than this. This
leaves open the possibility that the radiation risk estimates from
Japan may not be totally appropriate for routine exposures. In an
attempt to evaluate the magnitude of this effect I need some photon
spectra.
Many thanks
Monty Charles
