X-Ray Technology to Irradiate Blood and Blood Products
I expect that this will raise all kinds of red flags, as did food
irradiation. If the public is terrified of putting food in their mouths,
that had bee "IRRADIATED" ... wait to they find that the blood that
will be transfused into their bodies, will be "IRRADIATED"!

Florida Based Company Announces New Applications for X-Ray
Technology to Irradiate Blood and Blood Products
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 1999--Rad
Source Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB:IRAD - news) of Coral Springs,
Fla. has made a technological breakthrough in the design of a
proprietary system that irradiates blood and blood products prior to
transfusion in order to prevent graft versus host disease.
The RS 3000 Blood Irradiator is a completely self contained X-ray
irradiation source that provides an alternative to radioactive
(gamma) irradiation sources. The RS 3000 Blood Irradiator has
been approved for marketing by the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) for the irradiation of blood and blood products. The response
to the RS 3000 Blood Irradiator has been tremendous with initial
orders placed for eight units stated Randol Kirk, President and
CEO. The first unit is scheduled to be delivered within the first
quarter of 1999 to the South Florida Blood Bank, West Palm
Beach, Florida. I believe, the RS 3000 Blood Irradiator will
revolutionize the industry as the first blood irradiator utilizing a non-
radioactive source, we are eagerly awaiting it's arrival. stated John
Flynn, President and CEO of the South Florida Blood Banks.
Rad Source Technologies, Inc. is committed to replacing regulated,
nuclear irradiation devices with X-ray technology for application in
selected medical and industrial markets. Since its inception, Rad
Source Technologies has developed, unique, patented technology
to be sequentially incorporated into three specific product lines, all
immediately applicable to resolving highly publicized, public health
and consumer issues, according to Randol E. Kirk, President and
CEO. Unlike commonly used medical and dental X-ray imaging
equipment, which must be designed to minimize and focus
radiation dosage, the new products are designed to provide intense
long wave X-ray bombardment on demand, but without the inherent
risks associated with radioactive radiation. ``Our technology has
greatly reduced the risk and problems associated with
radioactivity,'' Kirk explained.
Rad Source Technologies recently completed an equity private
placement through its investment bankers, Capital International
Securities Group of Miami, Florida. The equity private placement
was raised in order to meet anticipated product demand of the
company's RS 2000 Lab Irradiators and RS 3000 Blood Irradiators.
The company began trading it's common stock in the public
markets on 3/13/99 on the OTC BB under the symbol IRAD. Rad
Source Technologies, Inc. joins MDS Nordion TSE: (MHG.A),
Sterigenics International Nasdaq: (STER) and Steris Corporation
NYSE: (STE) in the emerging irradiation industry. For more
