News - Millstone + nuclear storage site could be prone to earthquakes.
NRC Approves Millstone Restart - (WATERFORD) -- The Nuclear
Regulatory Commission has granted Northeast Utilities permission
to restart the Millstone Two Nuclear Power Plant, but it still must
remain idle. That's because a judge's restraining order remains in
effect. The environmental group ``Fish Unlimited'' obtained the order
earlier this week because members claim the reactor kills too
many fish. Millstone Two has been quiet more than three years due
to safety concerns.

Geologist Warns Of Quake Danger - (SALT LAKE CITY) -- State
geologists say the area where the Skull Valley band of the
Goshute Indian tribe wants to build a nuclear storage site, could be
prone to earthquakes. Lee Allison of the Utah Geological survey
was among many people who testified at a public hearing on the
proposal. Allison claims there are two large, active faults that would
be crossed by the railroad to get to the site. Allison's boss, Utah
Governor Mike Leavitt, has been a vocal opponent of the plan by
several eastern utility companies to temporarily store the waste in
Utah.
