The Connecticut Dept. of Environmental Protection is looking for a Health
Physicist.

Job Title: Radiation Control Physicist
Closing Date: May 17, 1999

Responsibilities include: inspections, lab work, collect & disseminate
information relating to the recognition, evaluation, and control of
radiological hazards, investigate complaints, perform detailed radiation
monitoring of air, water, and other environmental media, prepare reports
and calibration of equipment.

The IDEAL candidate will have:
1.    Proven research and organizational skills
2.    Excellent communication skills
3.    Good understanding of PC applications
4.    Good understanding of radiological use and applications
5.    Familiarity with regulations pertaining to ionizing and non-ionizing       
       radiation
6.    Experience in a wide variety of radiological measurement techniques
7.    Experience in radiological lab operations
8.    Experience in coordinating projects with others and writing technical
       reports

Preferred candidates must have 2-4 years experience in radiation
control, radiological lab analysis, interpretation of radiation regulations
and a B.S. in physics, biological science, physical science or nuclear
engineering.

Starting Salary: $39,932 with an additional annual stipend of $3,000.
