We ran a gamma spec on one a couple of years ago (in a "swipe" geometry),
and got ~0.02 microcuries of Th-232, plus all daughter products in
approximate equilibrium.  A co-worker suggested reporting soil and other
contamination levels in "equivalent lantern mantel" units to put things in
perspective.  However, we never pursued the idea.
