The University of Cincinnati Radiation Safety Office has 2 openings for a
Radiation Safety Specialist. Resumes may be faxed to Connie Riley at (513)

The minimum starting salary is $27,000. Final salary is determined by Human
Resources using years of relavent experience, education and training.
RADIATION SAFETY SPECIALIST
(99CM2919) Department of Radiation Safety. Duties include: Audit authorized
users, labs and use protocols to assure compliance; conduct initial and
annual retraining courses in Radiation Safety; supervise receipt of
radioactive materials within the university and the calibration/maintenance
of all portable survey equipment; assist in preparation of radioactive
waste and proper maintenance of radioactive materials inventories; maintain
personnel dosimetry services; provide technical assistance and/or perform
compliance with health physics issues involved in medical use of
radioactive materials; assist in maintenance of data base computer system;
evaluate for compliance non-medical radiation producing devices; and make
technical recommendation as to good health physics practices. Assist in
decontamination of radioactive materials use area. The University of
Cincinnati has a medical broadscope license and the program oversees
approximately 275 authorized users, 2,000 radiation workers and 650
research laboratories, and medical use at two major hospitals. Min. Quals.:
Bachelor's in health physics or related field or equivalent experience or
bachelor's in life or physical science and 1 yr. related experience. Must
pass a departmentally administered test and be agile/dexterous. The ideal
candidate will possess experience with Microsoft Word 97. Resumes accepted
