Waste dump dropout could cost

Waste dump dropout could cost -- More fallout from North Carolina's
decision to drop out of a multi-state nuclear waste dump agreement.
The Southeast Compact Commission's sanction committee wants the Tar
Heel State to repay 80-million dollars it gave to develop the waste
site. Further sanctions could include fines and a requirement that
North Carolina store low-level radioactive waste from other states
until a new dump is built.
