OK, I'll agree with you from a scientific, and historic standpoint.
However, in some instances, such as this, it makes way too much sense to
call things even at 2000 and start a new millenium.  I'm sure scientifically
we could stretch all the days in existense between 1 AD and start of the
current calendar to make up for that year with very little problem.  I don't
think anyone is alive at this point that will miss that one year in the last
2000 (or 1999 as the case may be).  Which is about the ratio of time in a
day I've wasted on this one.

Let's give in on this one and get back to work on lead lined or zero mass
airplanes.
