Ron Laver asked about the intended use for HDR units.  


The following is a simplistic explanation. If you want more, I can put you
in touch with an expert on HDR.  They are used for medical irradiation for
various diseases.  They work much like an industrial radiography unit in
that the source(s)is moved from a shielded device through a tube to a preset
point.  The tube is inserted into an orifice of the patient, then the souce
is cranked out. HDR stands for high dose rate - a designation that the
medical types use to differentiate it from other types of medical
irradiation.
