HEALTH PHYSICS
Schedule of Contents
Volume 77 No. 4, October 1999

On the cover: Radioactive contamination of produce is of concern
following
nuclear accidents. Here a woman is sorting highly contaminated
cranberries
from the forest to be consumed at home or sold at the marketplace. See
article by G. H_riard Dubreuil et al. on page 361 for more information.

Runner up cover photo: Northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kyol in the Kyrghyz
Republic. Isolated locations on the southern shore have radiation levels
in
excess of 10 times ambient background. See article by D. M. Hamby and A.
K.
Tynybekov on page 427 for more information.

Runner up cover photo: Ultraviolet radiation from sunbeds may give a
yearly
total skin dose comparable to the sun for certain population groups.
Skin
dose area most affected by UV radiation is greater during sunbed use than
for
most outdoor exposure (shown by shaded area). Se article by U. Wester et
al.
on page 436 for more information.
