SI Units

My problem with SI units is strictly a matter of public perception. When
they see reports concerning radiation or radioactivity, they only see
numbers with a unit. They have no perception of what that unit is. In old
units for acute dose it takes 450 units (Rads) or 450,000 units (mRads) to
be lethal to 50% of those exposed without medical attention. With SI, it
takes only 4.5 units (Gy). A dps used to be perceived as a vanishingly
small amount of activity. Now it is 1unit (Bq).
