RE: Individual monitoring device question.




You may wish to give HPS N13.41-1997 a read (Criteria for Performing
Multiple Dosimetry). Diagnostic radiology and the use of protective aprons
is discussed in Section 6.2 (pages 15 and 16). On page 15 you find:

"...common practice prescribes a dosimeter to be worn on the body trunk
under the apron and a second dosimeter worn at the collar over the apron."

Table 2 of this document gives compartment factors for the head and neck,
thorax, abdomen, upper right arm, upper left arm, right thigh, and the left
thigh. These compartment factors are then used to calculate compartment
doses which can be summed to estimate the effective dose equivalent.
