RE Comments on Assigned Dose - More

Group,

My comment regarding use of the Webster equation was made because I keep
seeing comments that the NRC won't allow it and requires the highest dose be
used. But the place people may want to use Webster or another algorithm is
usually fluoroscopy where the NRC has no jurisdiction. As I said in my
earlier post CRCPD has endorsed Webster by putting it in their Suggested
State Regulations for medical fluoroscopy. Regardless of Agreement State
status x-ray exposures are governed by state regulation. So the individual
state either requires the highest dose be assigned, like the NRC, or may
allow the use of Webster or other formula. My point is, don't look to the
NRC for regulations pertaining to machine produced regulations.

Any opinions expressed are mine alone and do not necessarily represent those
