Re: VARSKIN

NUREG/CR-5873 sections 2.3, 2.4, and 4 and Appendix A provide the instructions
and guidance for adding nuclides, including how to determine the degree of
forbiddenness. The decay schemes in ICRP-38 include sufficient nuclide specific
data to determine the degree of forbiddenness using the NUREG/CR-5873 guidance.

Subject: VARSKIN

We are trying to add a couple of nuclides to the VARSKIN MOD2 Betadata.dat
data base. One of the parameters needed is the Degree of Forbiddenness for
that decay path.

We would appreciate any information that could be provided on how to either
find the appropriate data ( Mn-54 and Sn-113 ), or the appropriate method of
performing the calculation to obtain the needed parameter.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
