Re: gonadal dose risk
November 1, 1999
The most sensitive stage of spermatogenesis is the A/B spermatogonia stage
which occurs about eight weeks before the final development of mature
sperm. The sperm obtained five days after irradiation are less likely to be
affected that the sperm collected eight weeks after irradiation. Based on
the atomic bomb survivors' data, the sperm produced more than six months
after irradiation are the least likely to be affected.
