Re:Breathing Zone Representation

Section 3 of Reg. Guide 8.25, "Air Sampling in the Workplace" states, "samplers
that are located within 1 foot of the worker's head may be accepted as
representative without further demonstration that the results are
representative."

The guide also lists four methods to demonstrate representativeness for samplers
not located within 1 foot of the worker's head.

This Reg. Guide can be downloaded from the NRC's website.

RADSAFERS:

What is the maximum distance from a worker's face that can still be
considered repreentative of the breathing zone?

Please include an industry reference document, or how you determined the
maximum distance.
