Although proximity makes a good (and defendable) argument for
representativeness, it is not a necessity if you can quantitatively
demonstrate that your proposed breathing zone sampler sees the
same concentration as the worker.

The are many variables that affect sample representativeness
(ventilation inlet and return designs, equipment heat output, worker
movements, etc.).  "Close proximity" does not always *guarantee*
representativeness.
