SAIC has two positions open in our department.  Please note that the work
location is in Summerlin, a NW suburb of Las Vegas and NOT at the Yucca Mountain
Site.  Occasional travel to the site may be required.  The position announcement

Salary Range:  $56-75k (midpoint)

Education Requirement:
BA/BS in Technical Field (such as Health Physics) or equivalent combination of
education and experience may be considered.

Job Description:
Provide development and implementation support for radiation protection. Develop
input for the Yucca Mountain Project Site Recommendation and License
Application. Develop radiation protection presence to ensure design and
regulatory areas incorporate radiation safety. Emphasis will be on regulatory
requirements and guidance, consensus standards, nuclear facility operating
experience, and good practices to achieve protection of the public, workers, and
the environment. Interact with design and regulatory licensing functions, and
combine with radiation protection program development to achieve proper results.


Selection Criteria or Required Skills:
Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of directly relevant experience in
addition to degree.  Knowledge of and familiarity with NRC and/or DOE
regulations, guides and ALARA approach are necessary.  Excellent written and
verbal skills are required. The ability to obtain unlimited access to the Yucca
Mountain site is a condition of employment.

Desired Skills:
Experience at operating NRC licensed facilities or installations is desired.
Previous DOE experience and/or CHP beneficial.
