Radiation Protection Services Group. The job announcement,

Job Summary: Provide technical leadership for a team of health
physicists and technicians specializing in providing dose assessment
services to the Laboratory. Within the Radiation Protection Services
Group (ESH-12), coordinates the internal dosimetry program in the areas
of science and technology development, personnel management, fiscal
management, performance assurance, and continual improvement of dose
assessment policies, plans, and procedures. Serve as the subject matter
expert and principal point of contact for all matters relating to the
interpretation of internal in-vivo, in-vitro, and external dosimetric
results. Along with team members, share the responsibility for being
on-call to respond to radiological accidents, provide real-time dose data
and interpretation to medical staff, and share in the responsibility for
managing special bioassay programs in such cases. Work closely with
ESH-12 radiation dosimetry records personnel and assist Lab line managers
in developing dose management plans for employees nearing radiological
dose limits or administrative levels. Work with team members to fund and
carry out research in areas of interest to programmatic sponsors
in
topics such as bio-kinetics, compartmental analyses, and mathematical
statistics as applied to internal dosimetry. Work as a member of the
group management team to implement management systems based on quality
management criteria. Work within the provisions of radiation
protection-related DOE directives, Codes of Federal Regulations,
consensus standards, and other applicable requirements, codes, and
standards. Participate in the development of national and international
radiation protection standards. This position reports to the ESH-12 Group
Leader within the Environment, Safety and Health Division (ESH).
