blood irradiators
The power is only needed to run the timer and the turntable. The current
drain is only about 1 amp. This will have no effect on your generators. Your
refrigerators etc must be on emergency power. And the irradiator is only
powered when it is being used. So if worst came to worst, you could unplug
something else, and plug the irradiator in.
You could buy a UPS for a couple of hundred dollars, which would keep you
going for a while. In fact, the computer people at your institution should
have spare UPS around.
And speak to the manufacturer of your blood irradiator. They must have some
solutions.
